The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Kress Lady Roos on Tuesday, 54-18, falling to 0-4 in district play.
Kress jumped out to a big lead early and never let up, as they poured in 19 points in each of the first two quarters to take a, 38-8, lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs were outscored, 12-4, but they added six points in the fourth quarter, before falling short against the Lady Roos.
Jasmine Acosta led the team in scoring with eight points, while Yaz Torres finished with four points, Liz Medrano tallied three points and Maricella Gonzales finished with two points. Kat Amalla added one point in the contest.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday with a road game at Springlake-Earth to take on the Lady Wolverines.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
