Mrs. Terri Chaney is retiring from her teaching career of 26 years — 23 in Texas, which includes 21 years in Littlefield High School Chrmistry and AP Biology classes, and three in Louisiana.
She graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, in 1976, with a Bachelor of Science in Science Education Degree, Majoring in Biology and Minoring in Chemistry.
Upon Graduation, Mrs. Chaney began her teaching career at Woodlawn High School, in Shreveport, Louisiana, starting as a full-time substitute teacher in English and Fine Arts, and then taught Algebra 1 Honors.
She mentioned that a point of interest to her is, this is the same High School that Terry Bradshaw graduated from.
After leaving Woodlawn High School, their family moved to Slaton, Texas where she taught Physical Science in Junior High School, from 1998-1999.
From Slaton, Mrs. Chaney and her family moved to Littlefield in 1999, where she taught Chemistry/AP Biology at Littlefield High School, until her retirement on Dec. 18, 2020, after 26 years of teaching.
Mrs. Chaney and her husband, Ronnie, who is a graduate of Littlefield High School’s Class of 1970, are the proud parents of two sons, who also are both graduates of Littlefield High School.
Brett Chaney and wife reside in Orlando, Florida, where he is a Sr. Science Integration Analyst - Disney Science Integration - ABCNews at Disney.
Rhett Chaney and wife of Leander, Texas, are both teachers.
Terri and Ronnie Chaney are proud grandparents to five wonderful grandchildren, with the newest little one, Tate Wesley Chaney, being born this past September, 2020.
The Chaneys plans, now that she’s retired, include: “After covid survival, we hope to go see our newest grandbaby, Tate, whom we have been keeping up with, only in pictures and videos.”
