The Littlefield Police Department has issued some incident reports that were investigated and reported by the department’s officers from Dec. 21 thru 2020.
At around 2:30 Wednesday, Dec. 23, an officer responded to a residence on North Ash Avenue, in reference to a disturbance.
After he arrived, and doing the investigation, he learned that on Dec. 21, 2020 around 4 p.m. a woman had assaulted her grandfather, by scratching his left wrist, causing bodily injury.
Following the investigation, the officer believed the injury was an accident, and there was no probable cause for charges against the suspect in the case, because of the information he obtained at the scene.
The case was inactivated, and a follow-up will be done with Protective Services.
On Friday, Dec. 25, at approximately 1:34 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of West 7th Street in Littlefield, in reference to a theft.
In meeting with a man in the front yard of his residence, the man stated that someone had taken his padlock from his back fence, and could not remember when he last saw the padlock.
The man said he wanted to file a report and place his residence on close patrol.
Because of the lack of information, unknown suspect, and time of the theft, the officer inactivated the case.
On Dec. 27, 2020, at approximately 1:02 p.m. an officer was dispatched to meet a complainant at South Wicker Apartments, in reference to a theft.
The resident advised the officer that someone had stolen his bike, which was chained to the stairs in front of his apartment for the last couple of days, due to it having a flat tire.
The chain and lock were around the handlebars, which were cut off and left attached by the chain to the stairs. The rest of the bike was taken.
There are no cameras inside the apartment complex where the bike was stolen and the owner or officer have no active suspects Since the officer did not have enough information, the case was closed.
On Sunday, Dec. 27, at approximately 5:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a crash at the intersection of East Waylon Jennings and South Harral Avenue.
A white 2001 Chevrolet Impala was being driven west in the 600 block of East Waylon Jennings, at the same time a black 2015 Mazda sedan was traveling north in the 900 block of S. Harral Avenue.
The Mazda approached the intersection of Harral and Waylon Jennings, and began making a left turn onto Waylon Jennings, while failing to yield the right of way, striking the Chevrolet, causing damage to both vehicles.
Both vehicles were towed, because of the disabling damages.
Driver of the Mazda was unable to show proof of insurance, so the vehicle was also towed for the driver’s violation of city ordinance for failure to maintain financial responsibility, and received a citation for failure to yield right of way.
