The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team fell at home to the Idalou Lady Cats last Tuesday, 67-47.
With the loss, the Nettes fall to 4-11 overall on the season.
Idalou jumped out to a six-point lead in the first quarter, leading the Nettes, 16-10, going into quarter number two. But, in the second quarter, the Nettes were outscored, 17-7, as Idalou took a, 33-17, lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Nettes were outscored, 17-10, in the third quarter, but poured in 20 points in the fourth quarter, however their comeback efforts fell short as they fell to Idalou, 67-47.
Senior, Zoey Cantu, led the Nettes in scoring with 13 points, to go along with two rebounds, two steals and one assist, while junior, Addison Boehning, tallied nine points, nine rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Junior, Liz Sital, chipped in eight points, six rebounds and two assists, while sophomore, Braelyn Pointer, contributed eight points, four rebounds and one block. Sophomore, Stevi Lockhart, tallied five points, two assists and one block, while sophomore, Sydney Cornelius, notched three rebound, two points and two steals and sophomore, Gracyn Shultz, added three rebounds, three steals, two points, one assist and one block.
Sophomore, Kambry Tolbert, tallied one rebound and Riley Edens finished with two rebounds and one assist in the contest.
The Nettes hosted Farwell on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. The Nettes will open district play on Jan. 5th at home against Seagraves.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
