The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team fell on the road on Monday against the Seminole Maidens, 82-54.
It was a closely contested game early-on, with Seminole taking a six-point lead into the second quarter, 19-13, but in quarter number two, the Maidens went off for 23 points, while holding the Nettes to just eight points, making the score, 42-21, going into the locker room at halftime.
The Nettes bounced back in the second half with 16 points in the third quarter and 17 points in the fourth quarter, but fell short in their comeback efforts, 82-54.
Sophomore, Gracyn Shultz, led the team in scoring with 11 points, to go along with three rebounds and three assists, while junior, Addison Boehning tallied 10 points, six assists, four rebounds and one steal.
Junior, Liz Sital, chipped in eight points, two rebounds and one assist, while senior, Zoey Cantu, contributed six points, one rebound and one steal. Sophomore, Braelyn Pointer, netted six points, to go along with four rebounds, one assist and one steal, while sophomore, Sydney Cornelius, added three points and one steal and sophomore, Kambry Tolbert, chipped in three points, one rebound and one assist.
Sophomore, Elaine Martinez, added three points, two rebounds and two steals, while Riley Edens finished with four points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
