Springlake-Earth routes Dimmitt on the road, 73-39

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team throttled Dimmitt on Saturday, 73-39, to improve to 2-3 overall on the season.

It was a tight game early-on, with the Wolverines leading the Bobcats, 19-16, at the end of quarter number one. In the second quarter, though, SpringlakeEarth outscored Dimmitt, 20-10, to take a, 39-26, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Wolverines netted 16 points in the third quarter and 18 points in the fourth quarter to close out the Bobcats, 73-39.

They were led in scoring by junior, Evan DeLeon, who finished with a game-high 28 points. He was joined in doublefigures scoring by junior, Kaden Castillo, who chipped in 21 points and junior, Keshan Holmes, who finished with 12 points.

Junior, Trace Goodman, tallied eight points, while Dereck Rosales and Braxton Ethridge each finished with to points in the contest.

The Wolverines oppened District play on Tuesday with a road game against Lazbuddie. They will be at Hart on Friday, as District play continues.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
