The Littlefield Wildcats varsity basketball team battled the Smyer Bobcats on Saturday, as they came out on top, 44-36.
With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-2 overall on the season.
Littlefield jumped out to a, 15-11, lead in the opening quarter, but the Bobcats poured in 11 points in the second frame to take a onepoint lead, 22-21, into the locker room at halftime.
The Wildcats netted eight points in the third quarter to take a, 29-28, lead into the fmal quarter of play and they dropped 15 points in the fmal quarter to close out the victory over Smyer, 44-36.
Senior forward, Tyree Jones, led the team in scoring with 15 points, while senior forward, Chris Brown, joined him in double-figures scoring with 10 points.
Junior, Jordan Trevino, netted seven points, while senior guard, Jeremiah Salazar, chipped in six points and junior, Ethan Garcia, added four points. Junior forward, Ryan West, finished with two points in the contest.
