PIPE VIEWAMERICA EMPLOYES have been working in Littlefield, checking on water and sewer lines that might have been punctured when Atmos Energy recently replaced all of the natural gas lines in the City of Littlefield. Here, on MT Drive near the City Hall Tuesday, they were cleaning and vacuuming a sewer line to remove debris, so a camera could go through the sewer line to detect accidental punctures, allowing gas into the sewer (if any). “We’re making sure everything is safe,” said John Gable, on the left, who had been vacuuming the sewer. The other worker is Mike Burch, who was standing at the sewer opening. John said the gas company has requested they come to check out the system, so that no home will be receiving gas under pressure, mixed with their water or equipment on their sewer line. That situation could cause an explosion and be of a severe danger to residents.
