Sudan Hornets fall to Whitharral, 77-29

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity basketball team suffered a tough loss to the Whitharral Panthers on Tuesday night, 77-29.

With the loss, the Hornets fall to 0-2 overall on the season.

It was a tight game in the first quarter, with the Panthers taking an early three-point lead into quarter number two. In the second frame, the Panthers busted it open, outscoring the Hornets, 17-7, to take a, 33-20, lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, the Hornets were outscored, 44-9, as they fell to the Panthers, 77-29.

The Hornets were led in scoring by Abram Rodriguez, who finished with 11 points. Michael Limon tallied eight points, while Anthony Rodriguez added sixpoints and Josh Cervera finished with four points.

The Hornets were at New Deal on Saturday to take on the Lions. Results were not available atpress time. They will continue their season on Tuesday with a home game against Lockney.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
