The Olton Mustangs’ varsity football team made it to the second round of the 2A Division I Football play-offs, before bowing out against Cisco. The Mustangs were very well represented on the District 1-2A A11-District teams with senior, Jack Allcorn bringing home the district’s Offensive MVP award and senior, Aldo Vasquez, bringing home the defensive MVP award.
First team All-District offensive selections include running back, Vasquez; offensive lineman, Abel Esquivel; wide receiver, Bryson Ramage; tight end, Brennon Huguley and kicker Israel Santillan.
First team All-District defensive selections included defensive lineman, Tyler Ivins and secondary, Allcorn.
Second team All-District offensive selections were offensive lineman, Marcos Saldana and wide receiver, Santillan, while second team All-district defensive selections were defensive lineman, Huguley; secondary, Ramage and punter, Allcorn.
Those who earned Honorable Mention were secondary, AJ Reyna; linebacker, Josh Marquez; linebacker, Josue Castro-Barajas and offensive linemen, Grady Roberts and Ruben Vega.
