Lamb County Judge James M. DeLoach issued his latest update on the COVID-19 virus cases in Lamb County, as of 9:17 a.m. Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, 2020.
He had previously given updates at 10:56 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, and again Friday, Oct 30, at 7:55 p.m., which have not been published.
On Thursday, Oct. 29, there were 149 active cases in the county for that report and 450 recoveries. There had been a total of 25 deaths since the pandemic started.
For Thursday, Amherst had nine active cases, Earth had 15, Littlefield had 109, Olton had 10 and Sudan had six.
His report on the next day, at 7:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, the numbers were up from the day before, from 450 to 470 recoveries, and from 149 to 159 active cases. There were still only 25 deaths since the pandemic began.
On Oct. 30, Amherst had 11 active cases, up from 9; Earth had 16, up from 15; Littlefield had 113, up from 109; Olton had 11, up from 10; and Sudan had eight, up from six. The Spade and Springlake communities had no cases on the Friday, Oct. 30 report.
His update on Tuesday, Nov. 3, shows one more death, at a total of 26 deaths since the pandemic began.
The new update shows that recoveries have increased from the Oct. 30 report of 470, to the current 497 recoveries. The active cases have fallen from 159 to 151 in the new update.
The current updates on the community cases, compared with the Oct. 30 reports include: Amherst still has 11 cases; Earth’s cases dropped from 16 to 13; Littlefield’s cases dropped from 113 to 103; Olton’s cases increased from 11 to 12; and Sudan’s cases increased from 8 to 12.
