COVID cases increasing in the County’s cities

Lamb County Judge James M. DeLoach has issued an update on the COVID-19 virus cases in Lamb County, as of 3:18 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020.

He reports that there are now 141 active cases of the virus, which is a huge jump from the 77 active cases reported a week ago on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

So far, there have been 337 recoveries, which is a jump from last week’s report of 328 recoveries since the pandemic began.

There has been a report of two more deaths, (from 23 to 25) which have been added to the 23 deaths reported last Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Judge DeLoach explained: “The two recent deaths are counted by my office, if the patient(s) were positive for COVID at the time of their deaths. Once the official cause of death is listed, they may be removed from the list.”

The current number of cases reported in the county’s seven communities as of Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020 are:

Amherst has eight cases, up from six; Earth has six, up from four; Littlefield has 111 cases, up from 52; Olton has eight cases, up from five; Spade has three, up from one; Sudan has four, down from nine; and Springlake still has only one case.
