Friday afternoon, I had the distinct opportunity to sit down and have a conversation, via telephone, with the Author of the new book “It’s Time To Wake Up Stand Up Look Up,” which is the second book Jim Jamieson has Written. I have read it myself, and I must say from my first hand knowledge, it is a very powerful book.
Jim Jamieson grew up here in Littlefield, and was best friends with another life-long resident, Doyle Winfield, who sadly, has passed away.
Jim graduated from Littlefield High School in the Spring of 1956, and during his High School years, he worked for the Lamb County Leader-News here, doing various tasks, and he remained employed by there until late 1956 when he entered the U.S Army, where he traveled to Germany, and parts of his book recall events he experienced there.
During our visit, Jim fondly recalled the many memories and fun adventures he shared growing up with his best friend, Doyle Winfield.
Jim is married to Priscilla “Tillie” Green Jamieson, and together they have four children: Tina, Todd, Rodney and Tiffany, and a strong Christ-centered marriage of nearly 59 years. In March of 1972, they lost their son, Rodney, to bilateral pneumonia, stemming from the leukemia he had been battling, at the young age of 6 years.
Two weeks after the death of their son, Jim and Priscilla accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts, and as they stated “Our lives have never been the same since!”
Jim became a Pastor and Evangelist, and in 1996, they began Christian Rallies and in six years, they did over 300 of those rallies across the United States, and they also traveled to other Countries spreading the Word of Jesus Christ.
During our conversation, I asked Jim what caused him to decide to write this book, to which he replied: “I understand where this Country is headed and this book is not just about the upcoming Election, but as there’s chaos everywhere in this Country. I felt this was a ‘mandate from God’ for me to get this book written and into the hands of people everywhere.”
I asked Jim what he and his wife are doing now, and he replied: “We traveled and did rallies across this Country, until age got the best of us, so now we’re doing television programs and we still make helping our fellow Veterans a top priority, helping them as much as possible. So many times, we know we can’t change people’s minds, so we work to change their hearts.”
Jim and his wife, Priscilla, are set to do a two-hour-long television broadcast this Sunday on GLC (God’s Learning Channel), to discuss Jim’s new book.
Jim continued: “Nowadays, both parents normally work and so many times you now see young people growing up in homes without lack of guidance, so there’s destruction of our homes and home life. I hope my book, can help bring insight into what is missing in lives and homes in our Country.”
I scanned back through Jim’s book, and a passage he wrote in his dedication personally struck my heart and pushed me to include it in this article quoting his passage: “To every American in this Nation, who feels like their voice doesn’t matter anymore, and you are living out your life in suspense of what’s going to happen next in the land we all love, I dedicate this book. The respect and trust have been violated from outside sources and you have received misled information from many people and the media. Your heart for our Nation has been damaged and you are looking for answers now and for the future. In reality, there is but one person to turn to by faith. We will try to direct your complete trust and allegiance to Him (Jesus Christ) throughout this book.”
I personally encourage everyone to please take the time to read Jim Jamieson’s book “It’s Time To Wake Up Stand Up and Look Up.” I promise you won’t be able to put it down.
