Sudan’s City Council sets Thursday meeting

The Governing Board of the City of Sudan will conduct a regular business meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, in the Sudan Community Center, 107 East First Avenue in Sudan, where they will consider 21 agenda items.

1. Invocation.

2. Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Approval of Prior minutes.

4. Public input and comments.

5. Departmental Reports for the

12 Sudan City’s departments will be considered for approval.

Old Business:

6. Review of the Declaration of Disaster Issued by the Mayor on April 3, 2020, Renewed and Continued by the City Council on April 9, 2020, May 14, 2020, June 11, 2020, July 9, 2020, August 14, 2020, and September 10, 2020, and consider the continuation, modifications, or cancelation.

7. Discuss Expiring Xcel Energy/SPS Franchise Agreement and consider new agreement proposed by Xcel/SPS and any modifications.

8. Consider designation of Property for a proposed Baseball Field/Park.

New Business:

9. Consider Authorization for Submission of a Park Grant Application and Certifications through the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.

10. Consider proposal from David Wood and Derek Wood re lating to services, road closure and platting in residential development.

11. Consider Farm Contract for the city’s Airport Farm in Labor 9, League 224, Collingsworth County School Land, Lamb County, Texas.

12. Consider closing and/or abandoning the remaining portion of East Fifth Avenue.

13. Consider closing and/or abandoning a portion of McCarty Street Right-of-way and/or Temple Street Right-of-way.

14. Consider proposal to Sell a Closed and/or Abandoned Portion of McCarty Street Right-of-way, East Fifth Avenue Right-of-way, and Temple Street Right-of-way.
