The Anton Bulldogs’ varsity football team won a big game at home on Friday over the Paducah Dragons, 56- 6.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 6-0 overall on the season.
“It was a good win and a good test for us,” Head Coach Matthew Hoover stated. “We can’t let that game define us this week. We feel as though we are meshing at the right time of the season.”
This week the Bulldogs will clash with the Whitharral Panthers for a repeat of last year’s district championship game.
The Coach talked about the matchup, saying, “We are going to have to stay focused on our jobs, and roll with in-game adjustments and execute at the same level we have all year. We also can’t make the moment bigger than what it is.”
Coach Hoover spoke on a few guys they will have to keep an eye out for on Friday, saying, “Weaver, David Rodriguez, Jarrett Fryar and the Driver kids are all exceptional athletes that we are going to have to contain.”
He added, “They are strong across the board, and we are going to have to really play this week.”
Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Panther Stadium in Whitharral.
