Jose ‘Joe’ Castillo, 69, of Bula, TX passed away on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1957, in Pearsall, TX to Elojio and Onesima Castillo.
He graduated from Dilley High School in 1976. Joe married Lydia Gonzales Castillo on Feb. 10, 1979, in Dilley, TX.
Joe was a devoted member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pep, TX. He was a hardworking man and spent many years working as a farmhand. He was mechanically inclined and had a talent for making repairs to vehicles and farm equipment. Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening, and camping.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Aug. 25, 2026, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pep with Father Robert Williams officiating. Rosary service was held Monday evening, Aug. 24, 2026, at Grace Chapel within Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, TX. Interment was in Pep Cemetery in Pep.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
