The Lamb County Commissioners Court hosted its regular meeting on Monday, July 13, at the Lamb County Courthouse in Littlefield.
Present members included Lamb County Judge James DeLoach, Commissioner Precinct No. 1 Cory DeBerry, Commissioner Precinct No. 2 Kent Lewis, Commissioner Precinct No. 3 Danny Short, Commissioner Precinct No. 4 Lee Logan and County Clerk Rene Trevino.
No comments were made during the public comment portion of the meeting.
Minutes from previous June 8 and 22 meetings were approved, along with the minutes from the special meeting on July 1.
The court additionally approved all bills, $765,175.07; payroll ending on June 26, $172,063.03; and payroll for Lamb Healthcare Center ending on June 27, $273,007.80.
Commissioner Danny Short motioned to pass the consent agenda items, seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry. The motion carried unanimously.
Next, commissioners discussed clarifications made to a recent grant awarded to Earth EMS. The edited language in the agreement aligns with wording used by the Texas Comptroller’s Office.
Commissioner Lee Logan motioned to approve the new language in the agreement, seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis. The motion carried unanimously.
Judge James DeLoach announced the withdrawal of the current burn ban. Originally, the ban was set to last until August 22; however, Judge DeLoach noted recent rainfall and withdrew it for that reason.
No action was taken on this item.
The last agenda item outlined the expansion of inmate housing contracts in Brown and Upton Counties. This expansion is reserved for when inmate numbers increase within Lamb County.
Commissioner Lewis motioned to approve the contracts, seconded by Commissioner Short. The motion carried unanimously.
With no other items to discuss, commissioners adjourned at 10:31 a.m.
