Joel Garcia is a graduate of Amherst and the son of Janeth and Gustavo Garcia.
He plans to attend South Plains College to become a certified automotive mechanic and eventually start his own mobile mechanic business.
Garcia competed in basketball, football and track and FFA. Additionally, he volunteered as a firefighter.
He received various accolades: A-B Honor Roll, 3-time Football District MVP, twotime Basketball MVP, Second Team All-State and Newcomer of the Year.
His most memorable moment of senior year was the start and end of the football season.
Rafael Bueno is a graduate of Amherst High School and the son of Teresa Bueno.
He plans to attend WyoTech to become a mechanic. Then, he aspires to open his own shop to help people in need.
Bueno competed in football, basketball, track, golf and participated in FFA.
He received the Offensive MVP title for basketball.
His most memorable moments of senior year were team practices because of the familial and loyal bond everyone had.
Brennen Garcia is a graduate of Amherst High School and the son of Ashlee and Juan Garcia.
He received a scholarship to be an athletic trainer for the men’s basketball team at South Plains College, where he will study kinesiology and sports medicine.
Garcia competed in football, basketball and track. He participated in the Texas Tech Mentorship Program and Joint Admission Medical Program ( JAMP). Additionally, he served as the yearbook executive producer and competed in the current issues and events and news writing UIL categories.
He earned various accolades: Texas Tech Mentorship Completion, JAMP Completion, Men’s Basketball Athletic Training Scholarship and the Amherst Chamber of Commerce Scholarship.
His most memorable moment of senior year was playing football with his brother for the first time.
