Sunset Valley hosts Easter Celebration

After transitioning to new leadership and rebranding as the Sunset Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on February 1 of this year, the facility hosted its first Easter celebration on April 3, 2026. This celebration is one that the team aspires to continue as an annual tradition.

“We’re happy to be here and be a part of the community,” Eric Castillo, the new Sunset Valley Administrator, said. “We’re here to stay. We want to see how we can help the community in any kind of way.”

Prioritizing community involvement, Castillo said his colleagues wanted to organize an event that allowed the residents to feel included in the festivities.

As residents enjoyed time outdoors, attendees participated in an Easter egg hunt and various group activities such as a cake walk, ring toss and fishing games.

“We want to do future events, even bigger, for the fall, Christmas, Fourth of July – we’d like to do it for most holidays,” Castillo said.

Now under new operations, Castillo said the team is dedicated to achieving its growth as an organization through resident care and uplifting those who work for the facility.

“A goal of ours is to grow as an organization and to provide everything that we can, healthcare-wise, for our residents,” Castillo said. “We usually keep all of the staff who are willing to stay and try to build them as future leaders for the community.”

Currently, Sunset Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is hiring nurses, licensed practical nurses and registered nurses, and will soon open positions for receptionists, cooks and housekeeping.
