Sudan High School One-Act Play named District Champions, advance to bi-district

Sudan High School One-Act Play students are once again district champions after competing at the UIL District Meet on March 3, 2026.

“These students rose to the challenge and are continuing the rich traditions of Sudan High School academics,” One-Act Play Director Jonathan Robertson said.

After this performance, Sudan set a new record for the most one-act play points earned at a district meet with 82 points. This is another record for Sudan, whose debate team previously earned a recordbreaking 58 points at the district meet.

Individually, Brooklyn Swart and Harper Pratt earned the Best Performer awards. All- Star Cast award recipients included Phillip Jones, Bekah Jones and Alex Carson. Honorable Mention winners included Anneke Van De Pol, Case Cantu and Halen Ruiz.

Additionally, the team earned the Tech Crew Award. Crew members included Rylan Dugan, Krissy Harris, Athan Burnett and Britton Bass.

The one-act play directors include Chelsea Lewis, Chrissy Bass, Angie Robertson and Jonathan Robertson. The team addi-tionally thanked Contest Manager Gordon Martin and Stage Manager Lisha Burrell.

The students will advance to the bi-district competition in Post happening on March 25, 2026.
