Sallie Josephine Duggan Strickland, 80, of Austin, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2026. She was born September 22, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas to Arthur Pope Duggan, Jr and Mary Josephine Turner Duggan and was raised in Littlefield, Texas.
Sallie spent her adult life in Austin, where she lovingly raised her family and worked as a dedicated legal secretary. She was known for her kind, loving, and patient spirit, as well as her creative heart as an artist. She deeply loved her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Paul Eugene Strickland and George Edward Wier; and her brother, Arthur Alexander Duggan.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Eugene Strickland and wife, Margarita (Maggie); her daughter, Carlie Alice Strickland Sky and wife, Shoshone; and her cherished grandchildren, Charles Beauregard Strickland, Olivia Isabelle Strickland, Arrow Juniper Sky, and Onni Valentino Sky; her brother, George Arthur Duggan; and many nieces and nephews and her cousins.
A memorial service will be held March 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Scientology of Austin.
