Lee Raney, 83, of Levelland, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 27 at his home in Levelland. Lee was born on December 21, 1941 to Chester Vernon Raney and Mary Raney (Thurman) in Clovis, New Mexico.

Lee was raised in Progress and graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1960. Lee raised his family with his first wife, Janie (Coulter), in Littlefield and moved to Levelland in 1984. He worked for Southwestern Public Service as a lineman for over 30 years and retired in 2003. He had many hobbies such as water skiing, riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, country dancing and working on cars. Lee married the love of his life, Linda, in 2011 and they spent many nights together going country dancing. Lee was a scout leader (Troop 641) and a member of the Lions Club in Littlefield.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his stepdad, Ed Edminston; his daughter, Vicki Petmecky; his brothers, Wayne Raney and Johnny Raney; and his sister, Glenna Sliger.

Lee was survived by his wife, Linda Raney; his son, Steve Raney (Nazhira); his sister, Joyce Olds; his grandchildren, Steven Raney and Stephanie Raney; his step daughters, Lisa (John) and Kelli (Curtis); and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests making donations to the Hockley County Senior Citizens Center (1202 Houston St., Levelland, TX 79336) where he loved to eat.

The funeral was held Thursday morning, December 4, 2025 at Krestridge Funeral Home, 505 Austin St., Levelland, TX and a graveside service at the Muleshoe Cemetery at noon.
