PASTOR’S CORNER

True Riches in December...

Dear Friends, As we step into the month of December, a season when the world often measures wealth by what can be wrapped, purchased, or placed beneath a tree, I want to gently remind us of what true riches look like in the eyes of God. While our culture chases after material possessions, Scripture invites us to a much deeper, lasting kind of wealth—one that cannot be bought, stolen, or lost.

Jesus said in Luke 12:15 (NKJV): “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

According to Heaven’s definition, you are never measured by your bank account, the size of your home, or the gifts you give or receive. God measures wealth by the condition of your heart and the strength of your relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ.

Dear friends, when we walk with Christ, we become rich in ways that the world cannot understand.” We become rich in peace— the kind that settles the soul even in uncertain times.”

We become rich in joy— a joy not tied to circumstances, but to the presence of God.”

We become rich in forgiveness— both the forgiveness we receive and the forgiveness we extend.

We become rich in love— the kind that reflects the very heart of Christ.

And we become rich in grace— a constant reminder that God loves us far more than we deserve.

The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 8:9 (NKJV): “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”

Jesus— Heaven’s greatest treasure— left glory and humbled Himself so that we could be spiritually wealthy beyond imagination.

As we move through December, surrounded by lights, music, shopping lists, and celebrations, may we not forget the greatest gift we have ever received: a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord. Every other blessing flows from Him. Every true treasure is found in Him. And every lasting joy is anchored in Him.

So this month, as you gather with family, give gifts, and enjoy the season, remember this: If you have Jesus, you are already rich. Truly rich. Eternally rich! Amen An Invitation for you. If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, there is no better time than now. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 (NKJV): “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Salvation is not earned—it is a gift. You can experience new life, forgiveness, and the true riches of God by placing your faith in Jesus today.

Simply call on Him in sincere faith:” “Lord Jesus, I believe You died and rose again for me. I turn from my sin and place my trust in You. Come into my heart, forgive me, and make me new. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior.” If you prayed that prayer sincerely from deep within your own heart or desire to know more, I encourage you to reach out to a Bible-believing church. We would love to walk with you on this new journey of faith.

May His peace, love, and joy fill your heart this December and beyond. Blessings to you and your family.

Sincerely and with Love, Your brother in Christ, Pastor Billy Montes
