Lady Cats take down Trinity Christian, 45-39

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team won their home-opener over the Trinity Christian Lady Lions on Tuesday, 45-39.

With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 2-0 overall on the year.

Littlefield jumped out to a, 13-6, lead in the opening quarter, and they added 12 points in the second frame to take a, 25-17, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Lady Cats outscored the Lady Lions, 12-10, in the third quarter to take a, 3727, lead into the final quarter of play. Trinity Christian would outscore the Lady Cats, 12- 8, in the final frame, but Littlefield prevailed, taking the contest, 45-39.

Amoni Jefferson led the team with 19 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists, while Madison Williams joined her in double-figures scoring with 12 points, to go along with two rebounds and one steal.

Nia Cleveland contributed seven points, five rebounds and one assist, while Zalise Davis added five points, nine rebounds, three steals and one assist, and Maggie McNeese finished with two points and one rebound.

Cobi Saldana chipped in seven rebounds, three steals and one assist, while Aubree Richardson added one rebound.
