Kenneth Hinson, 92, of Springlake, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, in Dimmitt, TX. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at Springlake Cemetery, with Mr. Kent Parish officiating and under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.
Kenneth was born June 12, 1933, in Plainview, TX. He was the son of Beatrice and James Luther Hinson of Springlake. Kenneth graduated from Springlake Earth High School in 1950. He married Marthell Barrett on April 28, 1951. Shortly after his marriage, Kenneth went to serve in the United States Army, in Germany, for several years. He was in a medical army unit from 1952 to 1957. He came home and began farming with his dad on the family farm in Springlake. He raised cotton, corn, maize, and alfalfa. He ran some cattle on the farm as well.
Kenneth loved going to the family cabin in Tres Ritos, NM to explore mountain trails by jeep and motorcycle. He enjoyed skiing in the colder months. He was the primary care person for for several years for his wife’s mother and later his wife. He loved spending time working in the shop building and improving the design of equipment for local farmers.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters; and his wife. He is survived by his two sons; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
