On October 24th, at 5:41 p.m. a three vehicle crash at US 70, 0.1 miles west of County Road C left two people dead.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 BMW passenger car was traveling westbound on US 70 approaching the area with County Road C. A 2022 Ford Edge SUV was traveling eastbound on US 70 and approaching the area with County Road C.
The BMW began a pass in a no-passing zone and traveled into the path of the Ford Edge, which resulted in the BMW colliding into the Ford Edge, head-on.
After the collision, both the BMW and the Ford Edge caught on fire. T h e BMW became disabled in the westbound lane, where a 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup collided with the BMW.
The driver of the BMW, Tristian Bueno, 29 of Olton and the driver of the Ford Edge, Julie Bryant, 57, of Olton were both pronounced deceased on scene as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash.
The driver of the Toyota Tundra, Jesse Gill, 22, of Olton was not injured.
