Olton Mustangs, Fillies punch ticket to Regionals

    The Olton Mustang and Fillies’ varsity and JV cross country teams competed at the District 3-2A Cross Country Meet on Tuesday, at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock where the Mustangs captured the district championship and the Fillies were runner- ups. Both teams punched their tickets to Regionals.

    The Mustangs were led by Casimiro Villareal, who placed third overall with a time of 18:11.29. Santiago Jimenez placed fourth overall with a time of 19:04.04, while Sebastian Sparkman finished 11th overall with a time of 19: 43.39, and Zachary Magallanes finished 20th overall with a time of 20:39.27.

    Jaydyn Vega finished 22nd overall with a time of 20: 58.21, while Aiden Ramos finished 26th overall with a time of 21:27.18, and Matt Flores finished 31st with a time of 22:54.71.

    Gabriella Reyes led the Fillies with a seventh place finish, clocking a time of 13: 56.18, while Jentry Bressler finished ninth overall with a time of 14:19.33. Amie Beelitz finished 11th overall with a time of 14:35.85, while Mariana Gallegos finished 21st with a time of 15:15.87, and Harlow Gorman clocked a time of 15:31.24, which was good for a 22nd place finish.

    Xavyree Arredondo finished 24th with a time of 15:44.81, while Ella Azam finished 30th overall with a time of 16:13.59.

    The JV girl’s won the District 3-2A Championship, led by Amethyst Huerta, who placed second overall with a time of 15:39.34.

    Alicia Florentino finished fifth overall with a time of 16:27.65, while Kaleigh Geldenhuys finished 6th overall with a time of 16:39.80, and Abril Vasquez finished 7th overall with a time of 16:53.08. Magaly Rios finished 8th overall with a time of 17:00.33, while Xailei Huerta finished 9th with a time of 17:19.99.

    Madyson Pineda finished 10th overall with a time of 17:36.17, while Melany Alvarado finished 11th with a time of 17:48.04, and Kali Soliz finished 12th with a time of 18: 16.77. Jeri Holcomb finished 13th with a time of 18:40.80.

    The JV boy’s were led by Dyllan Amaya, who placed second overall with a time of 22:08.90. Noe Mendoza finished fifth overall with a time of 25:15.90, while Edgar Gomez finished seventh with a time of 26:06.80, and Vaden Carroll finished 12th overall with a time of 27:12.40.

    Raymond Flemmig finished 13th overall with a time of 27:20.60 and Alejandro Florentino finished 14th with a time of 33:26.40.

    The Olton varsity XC teams will run at Mae Simmons on October 21st for the 2A Regional Cross Country Meet. The girls will run at 12 p.m. with the boys to follow at 12:30 p.m.
