The 2024-2025 4-H Awards Banquet was held at the Olton School Cafeteria on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 6:30 pm. The theme for the banquet was Red, White & Moo. Naturally, the meal for the event was hamburgers with all the trimmings.
Kathy Lostroh, Lamb County Extension Agent- Family and Community Health and 4-H Coordinator, and Brandon Albus, Lamb County Extension Agent- Agriculture and Natural Resources, 4-H Coordinator, served as presenters. Ty Carr, senior 4-H member, the current president of District 2 and the 1st Vice president of the Littlefield 4-H Club, served as the Master of Ceremony for the event which recognized and celebrated 4-H members, volunteers, and supporters of the Lamb County 4H Program, stating “each person involved in the organization, especially those recognized tonight, has helped provide the opportunities for the member working toward their 4-H dreams”. Loren Campbell then led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Club Motto. Guests were then invited to form the serving line.
During the meal, Special guests attending the event were recognized including: Lamb County Judge Mike DeLoach, Lamb County Commissioner Precinct 1Cory DeBerry, Precinct 2 Commissioner- Kent Lewis, Precinct 3 Commissioner- Danny Short, and Precinct 4 Commissioner- Lee Logan. The CEO of Lamb County Electric Cooperative- Blake Moore was recognized. Also recognized were representatives from First Federal Bank, Prosperity Bank, the Lamb County Leader-News, and the donor of the “I Dare You” award, Mrs. Iva Beck.
Connie Burt, President of the Lamb 4-H Adult Leaders Association, was called to the podium to recognize the Club Managers who are a “vital part of the 4-H program”. The Leaders recognized were Olton 4-H Club- Amber DeBerry, Sudan 4-H Club- Kelsie Albus, Littlefield 4-H Club- Connie Burt and Alyson Albus, and Springlake-Earth 4-H Club- Rosalia Marez and Klarissa DeGrate.
Kathy Lostroh then took the podium and asked all 4-H members who participated, competed, placed or won in any club meetings, competed in county stock show or contest, district contest or show outside Lamb County, advanced to State 4-H Roundup, and National Contest. As she called for those who had not advanced in each level to be seated, three remained standing at the National level.
All members of Lamb County 4H were then presented T-shirts in recognition of the number of years
