Estela Perez, 90, of Amherst, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Amherst, Texas. She was born on January 4, 1935, in Runge, Texas to Martin and Juanita O'Balle. She married James Perez, Jr. on April 15, 1965.
Estela worked in a Nursing Home Care Facility for many years in DeLeon, Texas. Her and James relocated to Amherst, Texas and have lived here for over 20 years. She found joy in cooking for her family and missed it terribly when she was no longer able. She also enjoyed traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, James Perez, Jr. of Amherst, Texas; two sons, James Perez III of Amherst, Texas, and Mark Perez and wife, Erica of Brownfield, Texas; three daughters, Juanita Yearly and husband, Paul of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Chris Gaskill and husband, Dwayne of Cleburne, Texas, and Lupe Sanders and husband, Greg of Frisco, Texas; four sisters, Pauline Shreve of Mineral Wells, Texas, Juanita Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas, Ernestine Whited of Littlefield, Texas, and Emilia Garza of Littlefield, Texas; twenty two grandchildren; thirty two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Al Ballejo and Joe Ballejo; a daughter, Vicenta Gamez; and a sister, Lola O'Balle.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
