Anton will celebrate its centennial celebration from July 25 through 26, with various activities occurring around town.
Times are tentative, and potential additional events may be added.
Festivities begin on Friday, July 25, at 6 p.m. with a cookout hosted by Grill Sargant’s BBQ, located on Main Street. For more information, contact Robert Nichols at (806)523-8920.
Anton High School will host class reunions at 7 p.m. Additionally, three Anton residents – two Vietnam veterans and a former Anton mayor – will receive their high school diplomas.
On Saturday, July 26, activities commence with a 5K run starting at City Hall at 7:30.
Then, at 10 a.m., the centennial parade begins. Attendees are encouraged to bring their chairs and arrive early to secure their spot.
Vendors and food trucks will remain stationed in the area throughout the day.
A street dance on West 9th Street will conclude the centennial festivities at 9 p.m.

On Sunday, July 27, the First Baptist Church of Anton will be Celebrating their 100th Anniversary. The church is located at 401 Igoe Ave.
Services will start at 10 a.m. A noon break wil start at 12 p.m and then the celebration will close with a Praise and Worship at 1:30 p.m.
