- On May 1 the Forensic Science students participated in a Forensic Toxicology Lab. Using harmless substances like sugar, baking soda, and corn starch as stand-ins for known “drugs,” they tested these with specific reagents to try to identify which suspect was present at the “crime scene.” The students were fascinated by the various chemical reactions that occurred with each specimen. These types of tests are routinely performed by forensic toxicologists to help solve crimes. (Submitted Photos)
