Church service for Hilaria (Garza) "LaLa" Toscano, age 71, of Earth, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April, 10, 2025 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Earth with Father Jeff officiating. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Ellis Funeral Home in Muleshoe, where the viewing and visitation will take place. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery. Hilaria died Saturday, April 5, 2025 in Plainview, Texas. She was born June 8, 1953 in Odessa, Texas to Pedro and Herlinda (Reyes) Garza. She was raised by David Duran. She married Francisco Toscano Jr. in Earth on December 8, 1973.
Hilaria was the oldest of fourteen children. She was an avid football fan and could be heard cheering for her team over everyone else. Hilaria had a green thumb and loved her garden, especially her roses. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for anyone who stopped by. Thanksgiving was one of her favorite holidays, and she went all out with her food for her family. Hilaria loved music and singing happy birthday to everyone. Her drink of choice was Big Red, with lots of ice. Hilaria was a strong woman and loved everyone, but most of all, she loved her family. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Earth.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Angel and Lupe.
Hilaria is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Frank; her three sons, Gabriel Toscano and his wife, Cassandra of Earth, Texas, Frank Toscano and his wife, Vira of Plainview, Texas and Eric Toscano of Earth, Texas; her two daughters, Herlinda Toscano of Hale Center, Texas and Teresa Nuñez and her husband, Pedro Jr. of Lubbock, Texas; four sisters, Francisca, Josie, Susie and Maria; seven brothers, Martin, David, Sam, Eusebio, Freddy, Jerry and Manuel; and her fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
