Pedro Cruz promoted to LPD Lieutenant

Littlefield Police Department announced on Monday that Chief Samuel Garcia promoted Sergeant Pedro Cruz to Lieutenant.

Lt. Cruz has been a public servant in the Littlefield area for 24 years, with 19 years as a police officer.

Lt. Cruz worked for the Castro County Jail from 2000 to 2002. In 2002 he moved to the Lamb County Jail where he worked until 2005.

In 2005, Lt. Cruz graduated the SPC Police Academy and started working for the Littlefield Police Department. He was promoted to Corporal in 2007. He left the department to work for the Yoakum County S.O. In 2014-2015 before returning to Littlefield PD in 2015.

Lt. Cruz was promoted to Sergeant in 2019 and transferred into the Criminal Investigations Division where he worked from 2020 to 2022.

In 2022 he moved back to Patrol as a Supervisor. He became SWAT certified in 2020 and joined the Littlefield PD SRT which he is still a member of today.

In Lt. Cruz’s 18 years at Littlefield PD he has received numerous awards and commendations including multiple Life Saving Awards and a Law Enforcement Purple Heart.
