Commissioners appoint Rene Trevino new Lamb County Clerk

The Commissioner’s Court of Lamb County met in regular session in the Lamb County Courthouse in Littlefield on Monday, July 29th to discuss a seven-item agenda.

Lamb County Judge James DeLoach called the meeting to order and as authorized by the Texas Open Meeting Act, and pursuant to Government Code 551, subchapter D; Judge DeLoach opened an Executive Session at 9:10 a.m.. Judge DeLoach closed the Executive Session at 9:16 a.m.

There was nobody present to comment during the public comment portion of the meeting.

Consent agenda items; (a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s); There was one set of minutes from the Regular meeting on July 22, 2024.

(b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers; as presented by County Auditor Gina Jones.

(c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor; Gina Jones.

(d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; Jerry Yarbrough.

(e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports.

The Motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve the consent agenda items. The motion carried.

Item number four on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to appoint new Lamb County Clerk.

The motion was made by Commissioner Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to appoint Rene Trevino as the new County Clerk subject to approval of her bond. The motion carried.

The next order of business was to consider and take appropriate action on the Burn ban.

No action was taken. Future agenda items were discussed.

With there being no further business to come before this Commissioners Court, motion was made by Commissioner Short and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to adjourn. The motion carried.
