On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 5:38 a.m. a one-vehicle crash resulted in one person deceased.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling west on Farm to Market Road (FM) 1055. Ms. Anna Belle Byrd, 88, of Amherst, was on the roadway when she was struck by the Silverado.
Ms. Byrd was pronounced deceased due to the injuries she sustained during the crash. The driver of the Silverado, Mr. Joe Lewis Gonzales, 53, of Sudan, was not injured during the crash.
