On Wednesday, May 8, at 10:10 p.m. a two vehicle wreck occurred on US Highway 84 near the intersection with Farm to Market Road 37, resulting in one death.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Toyota Camry was leaving a private drive off of US Highway 84. A 1998 Kenworth Truck Tractor, towing a semitrailer was traveling on US Highway 84.
The Camry failed to yield the right of way while exiting the private drive and pulled into the path of the Truck Tractor. The Camry and the Truck Tractor collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Camry, Sherri Harrison, 57, of Muleshoe was transported to Lamb County Healthcare Center, where she was later pronounced deceased as a result of the injuries she sustained during the crash. The driver of the Truck Tractor, Clay Allen Hayes, 66 of Albuquerque, N.M. was not injured during the crash.
