The Commissioners Court of Lamb County met in regular session on Monday February 12th, at 11 a.m. at the Lamb County Courthouse to discuss an 11- item agenda.
Lamb County Judge James DeLoach called the meeting to order at 11 a.m. The meeting was delayed due to inclement weather. There was nobody present to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting.
Consent agenda items; (a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s); Regular Meeting, January 22, 2024 (b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers; None.
(c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor; Gina Jones.
(d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; Jerry Yarbrough.
(e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports; None.
(f) Consider and take appropriate action on approving Treasurer’s Quarterly Report; Jerry Yarbrough.
(g) Consider and take appropriate action on Tax Deed 17592; $750.00 bid from Ralph and Janie Duran The motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry to approve the consent agenda items. The motion carried.
Item four on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Bids for Sheriff’s Office Parking Lot.
The motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to table the action on Bids for Sheriff’s Office Parking Lot for clarifications. The motion carried.
The next order of business was to consider and take appropriate action on out of state travel to Oklahoma for Sheriff Maddox to attend NSA Conference.
The motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Logan to approve action on out of state travel to Oklahoma for Sheriff Maddox to attend NSA Conference.
The motion carried.
Item six on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on buried lines in Precinct 4. The motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to approve the buried lines in Precinct 4.
The motion carried.
The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on renewing contract with CIRA for Website Maintenance.
The motion was made by Commissioner DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Logan to approve Renewing the contract with CIRA for Website Maintenance.
The motion carried.
The next order of business was to consider and take appropriate action on Renewing contract with Pitney Bowes.
The motion was made by Commissioner DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Logan to approve renewing the contract with Pitney Bowes. The motion carried. The next item on the agenda was to discuss Lamb Healthcare Center operations.
Dylan Brown gave the financial report. Mike McNutt absent due to weather.
Future agenda items; Judge DeLoach gave report from Brandon Albus on Stock Show kids achievements. Sheriff Gary Maddox is looking into a new hiring process. New District Clerk deputy Heather Weston introduced by Debbie Long. Renovations in Ag Barn progressing, now have heat in the building.
With there being no further business to come before this Commissioners Court, motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to adjourn. The motion carried.
