The Castro / Hale / Lamb Agronomy Agent with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting the monthly Ag Mastermind series at the Hale County Extension Service focusing on tree pruning.
The program begins at 9:00 a.m. and is typically an hour in length. There is no fee to attend. The address for the Hale County Extension Service is 225 Broadway, Suite 6, Plainview, Texas 79072. Winter is the ideal time for pruning when trees are dormant, reducing the risk of disease and infestation. Proper pruning techniques are important for the overall health of the tree. Dr. Cynthia McKenney, formerly with Texas Tech University Department of Plant and Soil Science, will be this month featured speaker. This workshop will give you an idea of proper pruning practices with an opportunity to ask questions about pruning or other related topics about tree health and care.
A follow-up meeting on tree diseases and pest ID is scheduled for March 8th also at the Hale County Extension office.
RSVP encouraged but not required to kristie.keys@ag.tamu.edu or by calling 325-665-8790
