The Commissioners Court of Lamb County met on Monday, Dec. 11th in regular session at the Lamb County Courthouse in Littlefield.
Lamb County Judge James DeLoach called the meeting to order and there was nobody present for public comment. Consent agenda items; (a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s); Regular Meeting, November 27, 2023.
(b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers; None.
(c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor; Gina Jones.
(d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; Jerry Yarbrough.
(e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports; in packets.
The motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the consent agenda items. The motion carried.
Item four on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to bury a water line in Precinct 1.
The motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Logan to approve action to bury water line in Precinct 1. The motion carried.
The next order of business was to consider and take appropriate action to bury a water line in Precinct 2.
The motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Short to approve action to bury water line in Precinct 2. The motion carried.
The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Soil conservation work in Precinct 4.
The motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Lewis to approve the Soil conservation work in Precinct 4. The motion carried.
Item seven on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Interlocal Agreement with Somervell County to house inmates.
No action taken, as this was approved at last Commissioner’s Court Meeting.
The next order of business was to consider and take appropriate action to accept donation of Real Property from Sudan Economic Development Corp to Lamb County.
The motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to accept donation of Real Property from Sudan Economic Development Corp to Lamb County. The motion carried.
The next item on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on mobile camera system upgrade for Sheriff’s department.
The motion was made by Commissioner Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Logan to approve action on mobile camera system upgrade for Sheriff’s department, contingent upon approval by County/District Attorney and giving the Sheriff, Gary Maddox the authority to sign the contract. The vote motion carried.
Item 10 on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action to install a security door in JP-3 office.
The motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to accept installation of a security door in JP3 office. The motion carried.
Item 11 on the agenda was to consider and take appropriate action on Sealed bids for renovations to Ag Barn.
The motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to accept action on Sealed bids for renovations to Ag Barn from the only bid received from McCain Enterprises. The motion carried.
The next item of business was to consider and take appropriate action on funding request from LHC Board of Managers.
The motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to accept funding request from LHC Board of Managers for a line of credit for 1.5 Million Dollars. The vote being called for and four voting Aye, and one voting Nay, the motion carried.
Item 13 on the agenda was to discuss Lamb Healthcare Center operations.
There were no other comments from Lamb Healthcare Center operations.
Future agenda items discussed were: December 15th, Library hosting parade and various fundraising activities for lawn decorations for in front of Courthouse.
December 18th DA’s office and other upstairs offices having open house from 9 a.m. util 1 p.m.
December 18th first floor offices having open house from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
December 25th and 26th Courthouse will be closed for Christmas.
December 27th at 2 p.m. will be the next Commissioner’s Court Meeting.
With there being no further business to come before this Commissioners Court, the motion was made by Commissioner Logan and seconded by Commissioner Short to adjourn. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.
