With Thanksgiving upon us, we asked people from the community to tell us what they are thankful for. These are their responses: Mickey Pittillo of Olton said that he is thankful for his family and friends.
Steph Canales stated, “I am thankful for those people who continue to support my Small business. Without your support we wouldn’t be here. La Manzanita Catering and Events Lamb and surrounding counties.”
Littlefield Primary Principal, Staci Sumners said, “I’m thankful for the community support at Littlefield Primary. Coming from a large school district, community support wasn’t always there.”
Alvaro Rodriguez of Amherst said that he is thankful for God, love and gift.
Morris Randle of Littlefield, stated, “I’m thankful for God because without Him there’s no me. I’m thankful for His Son, Jesus, because without Him there’s no salvation. I’m thankful for the Holy Spirit cause without it there’s no correction. I’m thankful for my family, friends, & enemies. I’m thankful for my health my freedom & I’m thankful that I grew up in Littlefield, because I absolutely love my town and the people that are in it.”
He joked, “I’m also thankful for big clothes so that y’all can’t see how fat I am. So y’all should be thankful for that as well.”
Ambrosia Nelson, Lamb County Library Assistant Librarian, stated, “I’m thankful for my husband and my daughter and for all the love and support from my family and friends. I’m also thankful for the opportunities I’ve been blessed with and to be in good health and have the ability to do the things I need and want to do.”
Selena Ramirez,Lamb County Library Head Librarian said, “I am thankful for my family. My supportive husband, my five daughters, my son-in-law, two grandsons, and two granddaughters. I am thankful for the extended family I have found in my friends and colleagues and for my opportunity to serve my community. I am thankful for God’s good grace.”
Reynalda Silvas said, “I’m thankful for God, family and friends.
Sylvester Ramon stated that he is thankful for his family.
Kassius Silvas, said, “I’m thankful for my mom, my dad and my best friend.”
Kara Silvas, said, “I’m thankful for all the answered prayers, my family and friends, and for the Good Lord who has moved so much in our lives.”
Tara Mitchell, stated, “ I’m thankful for God’s grace, my nieces and nephews, and the support of my family and friends while I’m chasing my dreams.”
Alex Jaramillo, stated, “I’m thankful for taking my family to church this year and all of us drawing closer to God and hearing my kids talk about Jesus often. I’m thankful for our church family and the realness I feel from all of them and their past struggles and them not being afraid to share so we can learn. I’m thankful for my family being healthy and growing.”
He added, “I’m thankful for all of our clients that bless our barbershop with their business because they could choose to go anywhere. I’m thankful for my parents for always supporting my ideas and working hard to get me where I am today. I’m thankful that my sister is moving back home to start her family and be closer to her nieces and nephew. I’m thankful for my wife for always believing in me and sometimes even pushing me to accomplish things I never thought I could do in life and for working just as hard as I do in our business and in our marriage. Also for being the mom that she is to our kids.”
Lamb County Treasurer, Jerry Yarbrough, said, “Thanksgiving is always a time to reflect. As I reflect this year, I am reminded of what is most important in my life which is faith, family, and friends. I am very blessed to have all three.”
She added, “I am also blessed to work beside wonderful individuals who have dedicated their lives to making our little area of the world a better place to live.”
Lamb County Deputy Treasuer, Terra Hopper, stated, “_This year and every year, I am most thankful for my family. My family is what makes my world go around. My children are the best children. They are kind, smart, loyal, and just wonderful. My husband is amazing and I’m proud of him and grateful that I can come home to him every night. I am also thankful for my health and my family’s health. We are fortunate enough to be employed and I am grateful for that as well. I am thankful that my pantry and fridge are stocked and that we have clean water and heat in our home.”
She added. “I am thankful for my pets, who sometimes drive me crazy, but I love them anyway. I am also thankful for clouds that produce shady days, my favorite. I am grateful for a country that allows me to get up every day with a smile on my face. I am healthy, happy, and I am loved. We have so much to be thankful for that it is hard to narrow it down to one paragraph.”
Briana Delgado, stated, “As we gather with loved ones to celebrate this special day, let me take a moment to express our gratitude for the little joys that make our lives brighter. At the Gingerbread House, we are thankful for the laughter, the hugs, and the endless curiosity of the children in our care. Their smiles remind us of the magic of childhood and the importance of nurturing their growth. We are grateful for the trust and support of the parents who have chosen our daycare as a second home for their little ones. Together, we create a warm and loving environment where every child feels cherished and encouraged to flourish.”
She added, “On this Thanksgiving, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated staff, whose passion and commitment make our daycare a place of love and learning. Their patience, creativity, and endless energy inspire the children every day.”
Zaylee Lockett of Anton, said, “I’m thankful for my family, my dog, and my brother.”
Devin Lockett of Anton, stated, “Im thankful for my husband, our two kids and our family and friends.”
Tammy Kirkland, said, “I am thankful for many blessings, having good health, many friends and Family and my Courthouse Family.”
She added, “I have a wonderful job that I love, and Great Employees. I love spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren over the holidays, eating and relaxing.”
