AgriLife announces NWS cattle producers’ guide

Texas A& M AgriLife announced a user-friendly “ Field Guide for Beef Cattle Producers” who find or suspect New World screwworm (NWS) in their herds, which will walk operations through the detection, reporting, collection, submission, treatment and prevention processes.

Honor Guard Brings Final Call to Duty for South Plains Nurses

Founded in December 2024, The South Plains Rural Nurse Honor Guard is a dedicated group made up of working and retired nurses who volunteer their time to pay tribute to their colleagues at their time of passing.

Texas Potato Field Day brings growers and researchers together in Springlake

Growers, researchers, and industry partners gathered on July 22 for the annual Texas Potato Field Day, where attendees had the opportunity to view more than 100 potato varieties and breeding lines currently under development.

Weather Stations Funded by HPWD Grant

At the June HPWD Board meeting, Dr. Ken Legé presented findings from the 2025 Replicated Agronomic Cotton Evaluations (RACE) trials. Dr. Legé is an Assistant Professor & Extension Cotton Specialist with Texas A&M University.

Miller warns Texas producers of pasture mealybug

Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) issued a press release asking ranchers, hay producers and landowners to watch for signs of pasture mealybug infestations on their crops and land after the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension confirmed cases in 70 counties.
