Majestic Butter set to hit Supermarkets February 15

Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest LLC will begin selling Majestic butter in United Supermarkets and Amigos in the region on February 15. Continental Dairy began production in Littlefield in 2019 producing non-fat dry milk and cream in bulk.

Now that the 2022 cotton crop is off the stalk, producers shift focus to markets and decisions for next year. Going into the 2022 planting season, cotton prices hit $1.49 on May 4, 2023. For most, looking at a range of 82 to 85 cents after harvest hurts.

Lamb County oil and gas figures reported

Lamb County was ranked 115th in the state in oil production in November as it produced 17,429 barrels of oil and 17,314 mcf of gas. November oil and gas production figures were released recently by the Railroad Commission of Texas.

Irrigated sorghum now insurable

National Sorghum Producers commends the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Risk Management Agency (RMA) for creating enhanced coverage for irrigated grain sorghum producers. The new coverage was effective November 30, 2022, for the upcoming 2023 crop year.

Lamb Co. Library sets schedule for Feb.

The Lamb County Library has released their Februay newsletter. The Lily Society, a Christian Women’s Book Club, will be meeting Thursday, Feb. 16 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The book will be “The Scarlet Pen”. Teen Night will be meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 and Thursday, Feb. 23.
