Commissioners to meet Monday

A meeting of the Lamb County Commissioners’ Court will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2023, in the Lamb County Courthouse, where a 12—item agenda will be considered for appropriate action. After the Call to order, the public may request to make a public comment on any of the agenda items.

Amherst School 2023-24 registration set for Aug 7th & 9th

Amherst Independent School District’s 2023-2024 School Registration will be held on Monday, August 7th and Wednesday, Aug. 9th. Football Players and seniors will register on Monday, Aug. 7th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Juniors, sophomores and freshmen will register on Aug. 7th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Grain sorghum. I have not confirmed sorghum aphids being found in Lamb, Hockley, or Cochran Counties. Apparently, they have been spotted in Hale County. We continue to find grasshoppers along field margins. In young whorl stage corn and milo feeding in the whorl is very light this year.
