Cotton, Wheat crop discussions on the agenda The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the Castro County Crops Conference on Jan. 9 in Dimmitt. The free conference will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at West Texas Coffee, 107 E. Bedford St. An RSVP is encouraged.

SPAG launches Regional Safe Room Rebate Program

The South Plains Association of Governments (SPAG) is re- launching their ‘ Regional Safe Room Rebate Program’. This program administered by SPAG is funded through FEMA and the Texas Division of Emergency Management ( TDEM) is open for applications as of today.

Burn Ban in effect until March 8

Due to the possibility of high winds and continued dry conditions, I, Lamb County Judge James DeLoach, have reinstated a burn ban for all ourdoor buring in Lamb County. This will be considered by the Commissioners Court on Dec. 27th.

In November of 2023, Elvira Vargas celebrated 50 years of service at First Federal Bank, formerly known as First Federal Savings and Loan. In 1973 she was hired as a file clerk at First Federal Savings and Loan.

Shaizae Martindele and Adam Hernandez, of Littlefield, are the proud parents of their new daughter, Thalia Marie Hernandez, who was born, Tuesday, December 12. 2023, in the Lamb Healthcare Center in Littlefield. She weighed 8 lbs., 5 oz., and was 20-1/2 inches tall.
