Dove Season opens today, Sunday, Sept. 1

A rainy spring and early summer led to a good nesting season through most of the state and near record high populations of mourning and white-wing doves across large portions of Texas. Hunters could encounter significantly increased dove populations in the field when the 2024 season opens Sept. 1.

Lamb County Retired Teachers’ Association to meet Tuesday, Sept. 3

The Lamb County Retired Teachers’ Association will hold its September meeting on September 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Real Life Building of the Littlefield Methodist Church. All retired teachers are welcome and encouraged to attend.The theme for this year will be “Building Bridges to the Future”.

It’s So Sweet To Be In 4-H!

By Ann Reagan The Lamb County Ag Center in Littlefield bore a good resemblance to the Willy Wonka Candy Factory due to the sweet decorations at the 2023-2024 4-H Banquet held on Saturday, August 17, 2024.Outgoing 4-H President Jeremy “JT” Burt served as the master of ceremonies for the event.
The City of Littlefield has contracted another large $750,000 street resurfacing project. The map lines in red show the planned streets. The start date is scheduled to be September 5th. Lady Cats ready to make push for play-offs

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team is off and running in their second year under Head Coach Kaylee Longoria.This year, the Lady Cats are off to a 5-3 start heading into the Denver City Tournament.

Farm Service Agency To Start Issuing ERP 2022 Payments

The USDA Farm Service Agency issued a notice this morning that they will begin issuing payments for the 2022 Emergency Relief Program. These payments had been halted following a preliminary injunction filed regarding USDA’s discriminatory payment calculations for social disadvantaged producers.
