    Friday, February 17, 2023 thirty five High school students and one 8th grade student traveled to Abernathy High School to participate in the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest.

    This is the first year since covid that all participants were at one location for the contest.

    Seven Littlefield students performed solos, six of these students medaled, and five of the six performed a solo that can and did advance them to the state competition in late May.

    Also competing were students performing in nine ensembles. Seven of these nine ensembles competing medaled and will advance to the UIL State competition in late May. This competition is in Pflugerville, Texas at Hendrickson High School.

    Soloist Medaling & advancing: Jordan Randle, Matthew Rios, Nathan Rodriguez (not advancing), Caitlyn Black, Devyn Crouch, Jimmy Ramos.

    Ensembles Advancing:

    Trios: Flute- Lily Loredo, Caitlyn Black, Zamya Darnell Sax: Tori Roque, Akia Galan, Mykenzie Price Clarinet: Lindsey Fuentes, Sophie Garcia, Lauren Turpen Trombone: Caleb Caudillo, Tailyn Gomez, Jose Hernandez

    Quartets:

    Clarinet: Curtis Gallegos, Lindsey Fuentes, Brittany Abeyta, Lauren Turpen

    Octets:

    Percussion: Jessie Ortiz, Andrew Martinez, (not pictured), Meah Gonzales, Devyn Crouch, Maddy Tarango, Jimmy Ramos, Jordan Randle, Azazail Melendez

    Brass:
