West Plains Ag Conference scheduled Friday, Jan. 14

The Hockley County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is hosting the West Plains Ag Conference that is scheduled Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 in the Sundown Room of South Plains College Campus,, 1401 College Avenue in Levelland.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the cost is $30.

The program will begin at 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. with Kerry Siders, Hockley, Terry and Lamb County IPM Agent, discussing “Lessons Learned from 2021 and Applied to 2022”.

From 9 to 10 a.m. , Pete Dotray, Professor and Extension Specialist on Weed Science, will bring a session on “Weed Pest Control, Supply Chain Issues, and Current Technologies.”

A break will be observed from 10 to 10:15 a.m.

From 10:15 to 11:15, Shawn Wade, Plains Cotton Growers Director of Policy Analysis and Research, will present “Plains Cotton Growers Update and Insurance Update.”

From 11:15 to 12:15, Suhas Vyahare, Assistant Professor and Cotton Entomologist, will discuss “Understanding Cotton Insect Thresholds, and Insect Management in Cotton.”

Lunch will be served from 12:15 to 1:15.

From 1:15 to 2:15, Wesley Utley, Hockley County Extension Agent, will present Auxin Training, to close the program
