The Wallace Theater Board is delighted to announce the overwhelming success of The Love Levelland Benefit Concert featuring the Jenni Dale Lord Band, held at Bolen Vineyards on June 8th. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and key sponsors, this event has raised a total of $7,300 in support of Love Levelland’s vital community initiatives.
Following the devastating storms that struck Levelland on May 29th, the community rallied together to support those affected. The Wallace Theater Board wanted to find a way to help. In collaboration with Bolen Vineyards the board organized the benefit concert to raise funds for Love Levelland, an organization dedicated to providing financial assistance and resources to those in need.
The success of the event was made possible by Happy State Bank’s matching donation of $3,000. Bolen Vineyards generously contributed a portion of their sales and the Wallace contributed proceeds from ticket sales, concessions, and additional donations totaling $4,300. These funds will help Love Levelland meet the needs of local families impacted by the recent storms, assisting with home repairs, food, and other essential needs.
“One of the primary goals of Love Levelland is to provide direct assistance to those in our community who need it most. The contributions from The Wallace Theatre, Happy State Bank, and Bolen Vineyards will significantly aid our recovery efforts in the wake of recent devastation, and we are deeply grateful for their generosity,” said Dallas Pena, President of Love Levelland.
“Happy State Bank was grateful for the opportunity to help those impacted by the recent storms in Levelland. As a customer and community focused bank, we are committed to reaching out and helping as we deliver on our core values” stated Trey Saldana, Chief Lending Officer, Lubbock South Plains Division and Wallace Theater Board Member.
The Jenni Dale Lord Band delivered a memorable performance, creating an atmosphere of celebration and community spirit. Attendees enjoyed an evening of live music, lawn games, and camaraderie, all while contributing to a worthy cause.
“We are thrilled with the outpouring of support from our community,” said Tania Moody, President of the Wallace Theater Board. “The Love Levelland Benefit Concert not only showcased incredible musical talent but also demonstrated the power of unity in times of adversity. Every dollar raised will make a meaningful difference in helping our neighbors recover and rebuild.”
The Wallace Theater reached out to its supporters state and nationwide. The Wallace has become a beloved institution to many people outside of Hockley County and has connections to many supporters who grew up in Levelland. Over 70% of the funds raised for the event were donated from outside of Levelland.
“We are grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, and contributed to this event,” added Alycyn Keeling, Executive Director of the Wallace. “Your support ensures that our community can continue to rebuild and Love Levelland can continue its crucial work, providing assistance where it is most needed. We appreciate all of the love that was given to Levelland for this event.”

About the Wallace Theater Board: The Wallace Theater Board oversees the historic Wallace Theater, a cornerstone of the Levelland community’s cultural heritage. The Wallace was built in 1928 by Wallace Blankenship. By 1954 it was part of the largest small- town theatre chain in America with over 30 theatres in the West Texas Area. It was the hub for entertainment and holds many memories for many generations. In the 1980’s it closed its doors. After being closed for 30 years, The Wallace Theater was established as a non-profit organization on July 14, 2015.
The Mission of The Wallace is to “Create Experiences that Entertain, Inspire and Empower!” While we entertain our patrons, we work to inspire them to dream and empower them to reach their full potential. We know that children are our future leaders.
Our vision for restoring and en- hancing the historic Wallace Theater is to be “the premier boutique venue for arts & cultural educational opportunities, live performances, and film experiences in our area because everyone in West Texas deserves access to these opportunities in an outstanding environment.”
We invest in the well-being and long- term success of young people through a variety of educational arts & cultural opportunities. We are developing programs that serve as resources for our schools and teachers. We are producing our own live theatre through our Main Stage program. We provide students, their friends, families, and all of our patrons with experiences and opportunities that make their lives better through access to a variety of experiences in arts that have not previously been available in our area.
