Lamb Healthcare Center finally got a beautiful morning on Saturday, March 2, 2024, for their third Walk with a Doc which is part of the “Walk with a Doc” Healthy Living Series.

With an aim to make health and happiness accessible to everyone, Walk with a Doc offers free walking programs in communities around the world led by local doctors, healthcare providers, or medical students. These ongoing events allow participants to safely walk, learn about current health topics, and meet new people or just get together with friends in an easy, free, and social activity that pleasantly masks the exercise and health benefits included in the walk.

Dr. Dominique Gagnon Of Lamb Healthcare Family Medicine hosted the event on Saturday. As walkers gathered Dr. Gagnon presented a short lesson on goal setting stating that people can be SMART about it. Be Specific or precise about the goal one wants to achieve. Make your goal Measurable by creating “mini” goals one can track. Set an “ Achievable” goal which is a challenge but not impossible, Make the goal Realistic and relevant to your life, and Timely in that one sets a reasonable time line and don’t leave it open ended.

The group also discussed the possibility of making the activity bi-weekly rather than once a month. There are no expectations with the walk. Participants are free to set their own pace and distance. Walk with a Doc is open to all.
