It is time to start preparing for this upcoming marching season and school year!
“ The following will be the schedule for the summer rehearsals. ***Please Note*** all band students who are planning on being in the 2025-26 marching band need to plan on being at all rehearsals” said John Thompson, Sudan ISD Head Band Director. “Make sure you secure a ride to rehearsal each day if necessary, don’t wait until the day of to do so! Students that have a job, make sure to tell your employers immediately about the schedule for summer band. They will be able to accommodate you if you tell them early but they will not be able to if you wait until the last minute.”
Full Band
Week of July 28-Aug 1- Full Band Rehearsal - 9:00am - 1:00pm Week of Aug 4-8 - Full Band Rehearsal - 1:00pm - 3:30pm
8th Graders and New Members
July 24th & 25th - New Member Orientation - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Drum Majors & Leadership
July 21-25th - Work/Service Days @ Band Hall w/ Band Directors - 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Percussion
July 21-25th - Drumline & Front Ensemble Specific rehearsals 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Recommended Items and Attire
The following attire is recommended to wear each day: T-Shirt (School Appropriate) Shorts (School Appropriate Long pants are not recommended as the heat will be very high each day) Tennis Shoes (mandatory; No Sandals, Boots, Heels, or any other non-athletic style shoes) Hat (Optional) Sunglasses (Optional)
The following items are needed for band camp each day:
Instrument Music Pencil Water Bottle/Jug (Have your own, don’t rely on anyone else) Flip Folder (will be provided) Sunscreen (optional) “Lastly, be sure to follow the Sudan Bold Gold Band Facebook page for up-to-date announcements, updates, pictures throughout the year, and others!” said Band Director, Thompson.
Also, if you are not already on the “Band” app go ahead and download it to your phone and join the Sudan Bold Gold Band page. This will be the most direct way for the Band Directors to communicate with the Band. Be watching for more information!
